Knicely & Associates, a professional law corporation, represents clients in legal matters in Williamsburg and neighboring Virginia Peninsula communities, as well as throughout the Commonwealth of Virginia. The practice of its attorneys has included special litigation and public law matters in other states and the Nation's Capital. Attorneys in the firm have also represented the Commonwealth of Virginia and other governmental entities, institutional clients such as universities, banks, builders, non-profit and commercial business entities, and individuals in contract, business, real estate, and civil and criminal litigation matters. The firm's litigation practice includes matters in both federal and state courts.

The firm's principal, James J. Knicely, is a graduate of Harvard University Law School, with legal experience extending over 30 years of public and private law practice. Knicely is active in several community organizations, including past service on the Board of Directors of Housing Partnerships, Inc., and President of the Virginia Peninsula Swim Union. Robert Luther, III, a magna cum laude graduate of Hampden-Sydney College and a graduate of Ohio Northern Law School, is licenced to practice in Virginia and focuses on real estate, contracts and civil and constitutional litigation.

Jacqueline I. Coffman is a legal assistant who assists the attorneys in real estate, corporate maintenance, personal injury and related client matters. Jackie Jochen and other staff members assist with billing and office adminstration
